Germany to Host 24-Team Tournament
The official website of EURO 2024 has announced that the UEFA EURO 2024 final tournament draw was held on Saturday, 2 December. The draw ceremony commenced at 1800 CET.
The 2024 UEFA European Football Championship, commonly referred to as UEFA Euro 2024, is scheduled to be held in Germany from 14 June to 14 July 2024. It will be the 17th edition of the UEFA European Championship, the quadrennial international men's football championship of Europe organized by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).
The tournament will feature 24 teams, with the host nation Germany automatically qualifying. The remaining 23 teams will qualify through a series of qualifying matches to be held from March 2023 to March 2024.
The draw ceremony was held in Frankfurt, Germany, and was hosted by former German international Lothar Matthäus. The 24 qualified teams were drawn into six groups of four teams each. The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage, which will consist of a round of 16, quarterfinals, semifinals, and a final.
The final tournament will be played in 10 cities across Germany, including Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, and Cologne. The final will be played at the Olympiastadion in Berlin.
