Starliner's First Crewed Mission Underway

Boeing's Astronaut Taxi Soars Into Space

NASA Provides Live Coverage of Historic Launch

Boeing's Starliner spacecraft has embarked on its first-ever astronaut mission. Today, June 10, at 9:54 a.m. Eastern time, the engines of an Atlas V rocket ignited, lifting the Starliner spacecraft on an arcing path to space.

The mission, known as the Boeing Crew Flight Test, will carry NASA astronauts Barry Wilmore and Kayla Barron to the International Space Station (ISS). The crew is scheduled to spend six months on the ISS, conducting experiments and performing maintenance.

This is a historic moment for Boeing and NASA. The Starliner spacecraft is a new astronaut taxi that is designed to ferry crews to and from the ISS. If the mission is successful, the Starliner will become the second commercial spacecraft to be certified for human spaceflight, following SpaceX's Crew Dragon spacecraft.

NASA is providing live coverage of prelaunch and launch activities for the mission. You can watch the launch live on NASA TV or online at NASA's website.
