Chelsea Appoints German Ace Thomas Tuchel as New Manager
Former PSG Boss Signs 18-Month Contract
Thomas Tuchel has signed an 18-month contract to become Chelsea's new manager.
Tuchel replaces Frank Lampard, who was sacked earlier this week after a poor run of results.
The German manager has experience in English football, having previously managed Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Monchengladbach.
He will take charge of his first game on Saturday when Chelsea host Burnley in the Premier League.
Tuchel said he was "excited to be part of the Chelsea family" and that he is "looking forward to working with the talented group of players at the club."
Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck said that Tuchel is "a proven winner" and that he is "confident he can bring success to Chelsea."
Tuchel's appointment has been welcomed by many Chelsea fans, who are hoping that he can turn the club's fortunes around.
Chelsea have not won a trophy since they won the Europa League in 2019, and they are currently ninth in the Premier League table.
Tuchel will be hoping to improve Chelsea's results on the pitch and help them challenge for trophies.
